New chef for Sukothai Bangkok’s La Scala


La Scala at The Sukhothai Bangkok, which is renowned for its classical Italian cuisine, has welcomed Anthony Burd as its new Italian chef.

Following three years cooking in Italy and several stints at top restaurants in the US, including Marea at New York City, Burd was invited by Michelin-starred Chef Michael White to work at his Hong Kong restaurant, Al Molo.

Before joining The Sukhothai Bangkok, he was appointed by legendary French-American chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten to helm the kitchen at Mercato in Hong Kong.

With a creative new world twist on Italian cuisine, Burd is committed to upholding the reputation of La Scala as the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok and continue serving fine Italian dishes to local and international diners.
