Como Opens First Property in Continental Europe

Located on a 740-acre estate in the Chianti wine region of Italy, Como Castello del Nero represents the 14th opening for the Como Hotels and Resorts brand, and its first in continental Europe.

Housed in a 12th century castle featuring 50 rooms and suites, interior designer Paola Navone has introduced a modern Como aesthetic to enhance the period bones of the castello without losing any of the deeply authentic historic texture.

The Michelin-starred La Torre restaurant showcases gourmet Italian cuisine, using produce from the estate’s kitchen-garden, and the estate also has its own vineyard, bee hives and olive groves. Como Castello Del Nero also features two informal restaurants: La Taverna and the Pavilion during the summer months, which offers Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and Como signature dishes.

The resort also houses tennis courts, a heated outdoor swimming pool and the Como Shambhala Retreat, which offers complimentary morning yoga and, just as you’d expect from Como, extended wellness-focused stays.
