San Fran’s Lodge at the Presidio set for a June Opening

Located in San Francisco’s national park area in a former army barracks, boutique offering The Lodge at the Presidio will open this June. Billed as a contemporary basecamp for park adventures, it’s the closest lodging to the Golden Gate Bridge and offers unparalleled views of the bridge, the Presidio’s 300-acre forest, the San Francisco Bay and the city skyline.

The park’s first hotel, Inn at the Presidio, has enjoyed a 94 per cent occupancy since opening in 2012. Being tucked further back into the forest, The Inn offers a quieter retreat setting.

Originally constructed in the 1890s by the US Army to accommodate artillery & infantry companies and a cavalry troop, its rehabilitation is part of one of the most ambitious historic preservation projects in the US, joining more than 470 structures in the Presidio on the National Registry of Historic Places.
