Contiki Introduces Travel Bot to Create Bespoke Trips

Contiki, a travel operator aimed at 18 to 35 year olds, has created a chatbot, Tiki, on the Facebook Messenger platform, to suggest trips relevant to the users’ travel interests and motivations. 
The bot takes users through a number of questions, providing content, imagery and quirky copy to mirror a more natural conversation and combat the stilted behaviour with which chatbots have become synonymous. 
“Our audience is made up of Gen Y & Z,” explains Ezekiel Chew, director of sales & marketing for Asia. “They aren’t looking for a one size fits all travel experience, and we’ve made a concerted effort to address this through our trips and travel styles.” 
Data acquired through the app will provide the brand with opportunities to remarket to users with personalised and targeted retail messaging.
