For fans of afternoon tea: Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Built in 1928, this grand neoclassical landmark was once home to Singapore’s general post office and the exclusive Singapore Club. Heritage rooms play on the hotel’s past and feature historic architectural cornices and original motifs. Under the sunlit atrium of the Courtyard in the hotel lobby, guests can gorge themselves on finger sandwiches and pastries, as there’s unlimited replenishment of tiered contents and free-flowing coffee and tea – plus a harpist providing the soundtrack. Those with a sweet tooth should also pay a visit to the Fullerton cake boutique for its signature kueh lapis, golden-brown cakes with layers of butter and cinnamon.
