Hoshinoya Bali Tunes into Ubud’s Spiritual Side

Located in Bali’s spiritual capital, Ubud, Hoshinoya Bali houses sacred canals that are part of the island’s Unesco-accredited ancient water temple network.

Opened this January, the resort unites Japanese design and Balinese culture, with intricate carvings adorning the furniture and the walls created by local artists. Each of the villas offers direct access to a semi-private pool. Suspended high above the vivid greens of the forest, the resort’s gazebos are presented as private café spaces where guests can meditate.

On the wellness front, the resort offers daily morning and evening yoga sessions overlooking the Pakerisan river valley plus poolside meditation. Treatments incorporate ingredients indigenous to Bali and include Spicy Body Revitalizing, an oil massage, scrub, wrap and herbal bath, and Body Relaxation, a fresh citrus or exotic floral oil massage, scrub, wrap and herbal/flower bath.
