Four Seasons Opens Hotel in Kyoto, Japan

Located in a five-acre 12th century pond garden in the historic Higashiyama district, the new Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto has opened, and features 123 rooms and 57 hotel residences, as well as a range of innovative F&B outlets, offering  guests five-star hospitality during a visit to Japan’s former imperial capital.

Guest rooms, designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, showcase views of the pond garden and nearby Myoho-in Temple. Traditional elements such as shoji panels and urushi lacquerware are paired with modern technology, while selected rooms and suites also have balconies with city views.

The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is grounded in the Japanese aesthetic of enso, connecting mind and body. Skin care treatments include the use of Tatcha, a luxury brand inspired by the 200-year-old style guide Miyakofuzoku Kewaiden; French line Biologique Recherche; and Kotoshina products, formulated with organic green tea from Uji, Kyoto, and French spa water.

The Spa complex also includes a sauna, steam suite, and whirlpool, as well as a full-service beauty salon, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre, and offers results-oriented therapies and indulgent wellness journeys, which are performed by skilled therapists in one of the seven treatment rooms.
