Belmond Joins Forces with Australian Chef Luke Mangan

Belmond has partnered with leading Australian chef and restaurateur Luke Mangan to tantalise passengers with his contemporary cuisine. The first hosted journey will take place on October 28, 2016, from Singapore to Bangkok on board the Eastern & Oriental Express, Asia’s most luxurious train.

In Singapore, guests will be invited to join chef Mangan for a morning tour of an exotic food market before boarding the train for a three-day, two-night journey that will travel through Malaysia and Thailand. Once on board the train, chef Mangan will meet with guests as well as host a book signing session of his latest cookbook: Salt Grill: Fine Dining for the Whole Family. On day two of the journey, he will takeup the challenge of serving his specially-created menus from the train’s galley.

The Eastern & Oriental Express carries only 82 guests in all en-suite air-conditioned cabins, with two dining cars, a lively bar car and an outdoor observation car, from which guests can enjoy the stunning landscapes of Southeast Asia.
