The Envoy Offers New Lunch & Afternoon Tea

The Envoy, situated on the third floor of The Pottinger Hong Kong, has launched the Tiffin Box lunch special and a revamped afternoon tea set, both of which are inspired by South Asian tea culture and served on weekdays.

For the Tiffin Box lunch special, chef de cuisine Kohli Chetan adds his colonial spin to traditional British cuisine. The first layer of dainty tiffin ceramic compartments features an Indian-inspired salad or appetiser. The second layer offers a delectable fish or meat main dish, while the third layer has the accompanying sides to the main. The last layer showcases fluffy basmati rice cooked and infused with saffron, coconut and pork fat.

On weekdays from 3-5.30pm, The Envoy offers either a classic, three-tier tea set or a simple scone board with a special focus on drinks. The top tier of the tea set includes Chinese tea-deviled egg and cucumber sandwich with elderflower cream cheese and dill, while the middle tier features avocado and prawn croissants as well as Earl Grey-cured salmon on filo pastry. The bottom tier has pandan kaya mascarpone Victoria sponge cake, masala chai tea panna cotta, coffee choux, and blueberry and pomegranate tea macaroons. For the scone board, a blueberry scone and a potato and bacon scone are served on a rustic wooden board, alongside house-made orange jam, blueberry jam and clotted cream.

Both tea sets come with complimentary Dilmah T-Series tea, coffee or fresh juices. Guests can also opt for the afternoon tea cocktails upgrade, which features light-hearted, tea-based concoctions.
