Second Luxury Sri Lanka Resort for Anantara

Anantara Hotels & Resorts will open AnantaraKalutara Resort, its second luxury property in Sri Lanka, later in the year. Immersing discerning travellers in Sri Lanka’s rich heritage, vibrant local life, charming colonial footprints and wild nature, AnantaraKalutara Resort will offer a unique shoreline hideaway with two views of paradise, when it opens in Q3.

Only 10 minutes from the historic town of Kalutara and an hour from the bustling capital Colombo, AnantaraKalutara Resort will reside along Sri Lanka’s ruggedly beautiful southwest coast. The peaceful beachfront setting between the Indian Ocean and Kalu Ganga River will boast private river and lagoon frontage. Arrive in style withAnantara’s chauffeur driven SUV limousine service – either from Kalutara South Station, just five kilometres away, or Colombo’s Bandaranaike International Airport, a two hour drive.

Surrounded by tropical gardens and towering coconut palms, 141 guest rooms, suites and pool villas will feature a private balcony or terrace with garden, ocean or river views. Deluxe Ocean View rooms will range from 60 to 65 square metres and offer a king size bed or twin beds, a bathroom with a double vanity unit, rain shower and separate bathtub, the convenience of complimentary WiFi, in-room refreshments courtesy of a Nespresso coffee machine, mini bar and wine humidor, as well as an LED flat screen satellite television with multimedia connectivity. Options to book interconnecting, disabled and rooms next to the main pool will accentuate the all-round appeal of this luxurious family and business resort.

Suites will offer 110 to 150 square metres of luxurious space with a comfy lounge area, and the opulent One-Bedroom Presidential Pool Suite will feature a personal plunge pool and sundeck. All suites and villas will feature a Bose sound system and the service of a villa host. The collection of One- and Two-Bedroom Villas will provide 170 to 190 square metres of space, each enclosed by a garden terrace with a private pool, sundeck and outdoor dining furniture, with some One-Bedroom Garden Pool Villas having interconnecting gardens for shared holidays with family and friends. 

Culinary experiences celebrate authentic island recipes, colonial traditions and refined world flavours. The all-day dining restaurant Olu will serve international favourites and local specialties. Elegant coastal Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner will be savoured with ocean views at Acquolina, in the convivial ambience of the dining room, the private dining room and wine cellar, or outside on the deck. Showcasing the rich diversity of Asia, Spice Traders will open in the summer of 2016, serving Thai, Indian and Chinese cuisines for dinner in a modern dining room and outside in a riverside dining sala.

Work off all that great dining in one of two swimming pools or in the fully equipped gym, and invigorate with yoga sessions in a pavilion at Anantara Spa, home to six single treatment rooms, four double treatment rooms, a wellness relaxation area, a beauty salon and a steam room.
