Maison Eight Opens in Hong Kong

Travellers to Hong Kong looking for a new French dining experience and cocktail indulgence should not miss the newly-opened Maison Eight, located at the penthouse of 8 Observatory Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. With impressive design elements created by Two Men in Hats, the new 8,000sqft fine-dining restaurant-cum-cocktail bar offers sweeping vistas of the city skyline from its intimate French dining room, Esmé, which houses the world’s first Bollinger Champagne Room, LE CLUB 1829. The lush private room is vintage inspired and adjacent to the house wine cellar, which boasts over 2,300 bottles. The menu at Esmépays homage to classic French cuisine with dishes such as Maine lobster thermidor, mixed with mustard, mushrooms and creamy cheese sauce; and roast best-end of lamb, cooked with garlic and herbs crusted, jus and braised vegetables.

A party is never complete without creative cocktails. Salvatore, the first cocktail bar in Asia by world-renowned bartender Salvatore Calabrese, offers a menu of innovative drinks, including Queen’s Back Yard, a tribute to Hong Kong’s colonial past; Hong Kong Sling, Salvatore’s answer to the Singapore Sling; and Excuse My French, a brandy-based elixir that’s briny and sour with herbal notes. The bar leads into The Ballroom, a modern reinvention of a classic ballroom with coach built detailing and its very own terrace.
