Mandarin Oriental, Milan to Unveil Two Designer Suites

Discerning travellers bound for Milan this summer should check out the two new luxurious suites inspired by Milanese design masters, PieroFornasetti and GioPonti, at the Mandarin Oriental, Milan.

Overlooking Michelin-starred restaurant Seta’s courtyard and the picturesque VicoloGiardino, the two new suites balance Milanese elegance with functionality. Both spacesare 100sqm in size and boast a living room, bedroom, master bathroom and separate guest bathroom.

Dedicated to PieroFornasetti, the Milano Suite is furnished with original works by Fornasetti and adorned with decoratively framed mirrors on the green walls of the lounge, where a Venetian trumeau and a “riflesso” wallpaper-covered central pillar take centre stage. The suite also boasts an“UltimeNotizie”table and “Capitello” chairs in the dining area; a “Guscio” sofa; a Spoon XL bath tub; a write desk from the “Farfalle” collection in the bedroom; and an “Architettura” console table in the corridor.

A tribute to Milanese rationalism and the minimalist style of GioPonti, who has inspired many artists since the 1950s, the Premier Suite is decorated in black walnut. Its striking features include a Mangiarotti’s “Eros” marble table; an original console table by GioPonti; and a Citterio’s “Simpliciter”sofa. The bedroom is furnished with navy blue textiles that harmonise seamlessly with an upholstered “Catilina”armchair, while the bathroom features a Spoon XL bathtub alongside other design pieces such as the “Cilindro” pouf. 

The Suite Arrivals package at Mandarin Oriental, Milan is priced from EUR 2,050 (US$2,328) and includes limousine transfers either on arrival or departure, and internet access.
