New Cycling Holiday to Nepal

Cycling holiday specialists Grasshopper Adventures has launched a new Nepal itinerary with just two departures scheduled for the end of the year and early 2017.

Designed for those wanting to explore the Himalayan land by bike, Nepal Panorama is a 12-day journey achievable by regular cyclists of a good fitness level. With the mountains visible in clear weather from many of lower parts of the country, the journey allows riders a chance to take in panoramic views without having to get right into the heart of the Himalayas.

Following a short and scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara the route traverses the scenic foothills of the Himalayas before heading south into the subtropical Terai region of Nepal, home to Chitwan National Park, where activities includes a day dedicated to a wildlife safari with the possibility of spotting rhinos, bears and, if lucky, a tiger.

This is a classic off-road journey between Pokhara and Kathmandu spending no more than 40km on sealed roads throughout the whole tour. The route travels through charming villages, small towns and through 'Kipling-esque' jungle, ending at the stunning Kathmandu Valley where a tour of the city features some of its many and UNSECO-listed historical sites.

The trips depart on December 24, 2016 and February 11, 2017, and covers around 300 km with prices from GBP2,500 (US$3,571) based on two people travelling, excluding flights.
