Zanzibar’s New Luxury Retreat

The exotic east African island of Zanzibar welcomes its first Hyatt hotel with the opening of the Park Hyatt Zanzibar, an intimate, elegant property that embraces the rich heritage and history of Zanzibar’s Stone Town beachfront, a world heritage site. From this central location, the hotel offers easy access to the best of Stone Town, including its bustling markets, the Forodhani Gardens, the Old Fort, the Palace Museum, and the House of Wonders.

The Park Hyatt Zanzibar boasts just 67 guest rooms and suites, housed in two buildings, one of which dates back to the 17th century. Each of the spacious rooms boasts a luxurious contemporary style accented with local design touches and plenty of modern technology, but the top choice here are the Oceanfront Rooms which feature sweeping views of Dhow Harbour and the Indian Ocean.

When not exploring the winding alleys of vibrant Stone Town, guests of the Park Hyatt Zanzibar can avail themselves of the hotel’s myriad amenities. The Zamani Residence building houses several food and beverage options, catering to all tastes. The Library and Veranda is the perfect spot for pre-dinner tipples; the Living Room lounge area is a comfortable spot for light lunches; while the Dining room offers Arabian, Persian, and Portuguese-inspired dishes in the elegant setting of a traditional Omani colonial home.

Guests can also pamper themselves with a wide range of massages, wraps, and scraps at the hotel’s Anantara Spa; enjoy the serenity of the exclusive oceanfront infinity pool; or stay active with the fully-equipped fitness centre.
