Let Alchemy Engage Your Senses This Valentine’s Day

Hong Kong’s own dining in the dark venue, Alchemy, is set to thrill adventurous couples with an exclusive Valentine’s Day menu. Senses – already heightened by the pitch black darkness of the restaurant – will be teased by a special, three-course menu accompanied by a glass of Champagne and a glass of wine. As always with Alchemy in the Dark, the menu itself is being kept under wraps so that the element of surprise winds senses a notch tighter.

For those that don’t like surprises, Alchemy Lounge, the venue’s upstairs, all-lights-on gastropub, will serve an indulgent four-course menu. Start the meal with a glass of champagne, accompanied with a tasting plate that includes homemade foie gras, black truffle brioche, chive blinis with farmed caviar, Hokkaido scallop and king crab, cold and hot smoked salmon, and Carlingford oysters. Move on to the second course of Carabineros prawn with Iberian ham ravioli and bell pepper emulsion, before your choice of main – seared pike perch with diamond clam mariniere, organic vegetable and port reduction, or a chargrilled veal tenderloin with braised short rib, aged comte eggplant, and watercress coulis. To finish on a sweet note, a fully-loaded dessert platter includes soft centre pink Valrhona chocolate, hazelnut marscapone tart, rosewater pannacotta, passion fruit crème brulee, and Brittany crisp marquis.

Alchemy’s Valentine’s Day menus are priced at HK$1,998 (US$258) for two, while the Alchemy Lounge menu can be complemented with extra wine pairingsm available for an additional HK$300 (US$39). Both menus are available exclusively for dinner on February 14.
