Calling All Aspiring Chefs

Intercontinental Hong Kong has announced its 2015 lineup of culinary classes, Cooking with the Culinary Stars, where aspiring chefs and bakers can get first-hand experience directly from the expert chefs that run the hotel’s three Michelin-starred restaurants. With the Cooking with the Culinary Stars and The Baking Club programs, guests can benefit from expert culinary tutelage from the chefs of Spoon by Alain Ducasse, Nobu, Yan Toh Heen, and The Steak House.

Most of the cooking classes are themed around specific ingredients such as black truffles, foie gras, tomato, and Wagyu beef; specific types of food like sushi, pasta, or ‘light summer food’; and some classes are even built around each chef’s signature dishes. The baking classes cover sweet favourites like macarons or chocolate desserts.

Participants in each class will receive an official certificate, along with a branded apron, and recipes, while those in The Baking Club classes will also receive a set of pastry equipment. All classes include a light breakfast, and lunch with wine, champagne, juice, and tea or coffee.

The Cooking with the Culinary Stars and The Baking Club classes will be held on Saturdays between 1030am and 230pm and are capped at a maximum of ten people. The classes are priced at HK$1,888 (US$244) per person.
