New Asian-Inspired Wellness Offerings

To celebrate the inception of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, Devanrana Spa, the signature wellness brand from Thai hospitality group Dusit International, has introduced its all-new ASEAN Remedies spa programme. The new treatments combine the region’s best natural ingredients and healing traditions in a lineup of four indulgent two-hour treatments.

The Mekong River Harmony draws from each country that the Mekong River passes through, and includes a body scrub using tanaka powder from Myanmar, cashew nut from Cambodia, and dragon fruit from Vietnam, followed by an aromatic Laotian Champaca oil massage or an energising Thai massage.

Drawing inspiration from the Straits of Malacca, the Malaya Retreat is an indulgent affair that starts with a nourishing body scrub of sugar, coconut milk, pandan, and jackfruit that’s reminiscent of Singapore’s famous Cendol dessert. The scrub is followed by a deep tissue massage that uses techniques developed in the Malaysian island of Langkawai.

Indonesia and Brunei provide the ingredients for the Kalimantan Haven ritual, where the body is stimulated with a warm scrub of herbs and fruits from the two countries’ native crops, before being massaged with an aromatic Tuberose oil.

Bringing summer to the spa is the unique Pilipinas Island Hideaway treatment, which begins with an ice cream scrub inspired by Philippines’ famous Ube Ice Cream. The scrub is a blend of sweet potato, taro, oatmeal, and lavender, and the cool exfoliation of 15-20 degrees Celsius helps to reduce skin inflammation. The ritual finishes with an oil massage that uses Sampaguita or Jasmine oil.

All the new treatments will be available at all Devarana Spas across the world from January 1, 2015, to December 13, 2015, and are priced at USD150.
