VBT Honours History in Germany

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, VBT, specialists in biking and walking tours, have introduced an all-new itinerary through Eastern Germany that will launch in May 2015. Called Berlin to Dresden: Hidden Gems of Eastern Germany, the seven-day bike tour (a ten-day tour is also available with airfares and trip extensions) will cruise through major destinations of interest, giving guests a historically and culturally enriching holiday.

Over several days, guests will visit the historically significant city of Postdam and stroll through world-famous Sanssouci park; explore the wetlands and waterways of the Spreewald, a UNESCO biosphere reserve on a kahn boat; cruise past the Havel and Elbe rivers; learn about a family-fun pickling business; see exquisite dishware at the Meissen Porcelain Factor; take in the sandstone peaks of the Bastei in the Saxon Switzerland National Park; and feast on local cuisine and regional brews.

The tour features two to five hours of biking each day over easy terrain, and is guided by bilingual experts and backed-up by a VBT support van. By night, guests will rest their weary legs in four and five-star hotels, adding a little luxury to this adventurous experience.
