The Berkeley Gives Afternoon Tea a Stylish Twist

Drawing on its position in London’s fashionable Knightsbridge neighbourhood, The Berkeley has announced its first ever designer collaboration, with luxury British fashion accessories brand Jimmy Choo. Called the ‘Prêt-à-Portea – The Jimmy Choo Collection,’ the initiative is a well-long celebration of all things Jimmy Choo in the form of a stylish afternoon tea.

The Prêt-à-Portea experience is designed to bring creative flair to the classic elements of a traditional English afternoon tea, and in this case, the regulation cakes and pastries have been given a makeover to resemble the latest shoes and iconic accessories from Jimmy Choo. The Berkeley’s pastry team had access to Jimmy Choo’s archives to draw inspiration for their edible designs and have created a sumptuous, delicious collection that includes signature styles like the brand’s signature pump, the ‘Anouk’, in a range of colours.

The Prêt-à-Portea will be served in The Caramel Room at The Berkeley between 1pm and 6pm each day between October 13 and 19. The exclusive afternoon tea is priced at GBP41 (US$68) per person; for GBP51 (US$85) guests can also enjoy a glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne; while true fashionistas can get the full designer experience for GBP57 (US$95), which includes a glass of couture champagne.
