Avalon Waterways Launches New Ships

Cruise specialist Avalon Waterways has added two new ships to its fleet that will take to the rivers of South East Asia in 2015. The two new 60-metre, all-suite ships boast just 18 luxurious guest rooms decked out in a contemporary Asian style featuring rich woods and deep hues, complete with panoramic windows that slide back to create a balcony. Onboard amenities include the air-conditioned Panorama Lounge, an intimate dining room, a bar, a spa room, a fitness centre, and a library, while guests will also enjoy onboard movie nights, guided shore excursions, and complimentary WiFi access in the lounges.

From January, Avalon Siem Reap will cruise the Mekong River on a total of 22 itineraries. Varying in length from eight to 22 days, all the itineraries include calling into ports in Cambodia and Vietnam, while the longer trips also include stops in Luang Prabang, Laos, and Bangkok, Thailand.

The second new ship, Avalon Myanmar, will sail the Irrawaddy River on eight journeys that range from the 14-day Golden Myanmar & The Alluring Irrawaddy, an in-depth exploration of Myanmar, to the 19-day Golden Myanmar & the Alluring Irrawaddy with Bangkok & Inle Lake, which includes a number of stops through Myanmar and Thailand.
