Qatar Airways Brings Back Travel’s Golden Age

Doha-based Qatar Airways has released images of its forthcoming A380-800, which features an onboard first class lounge and sophisticated bathroom interiors. Spacious and sleek, the facilities will also be available for the use of the airline’s business class passengers.

Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways’ CEO, is confident that the airline’s latest product offering will set a new benchmark for in-flight experiences. “Unrivalled onboard passenger comfort is an increasingly important differentiator and is becoming a fundamental deciding factor driving passenger choice – and Qatar Airways has designed its A380 with this firmly in mind.”

The new bathrooms, rendered as a spa-like space, will include modern, sensor-operated taps and large, square modern sinks that maximise space. The luxurious lounge, a throwback to the golden age of air travel, has been designed to provide an executive club experience, complete with mood lighting and spacious seating. The new facilities will debut on June 17, when the airline’s first A380 will fly its Doha-London route.
