Anantara Unveils New Chinese Retreat

Situated in China’s Sichuan province and offering spectacular vistas of the majestic Emei Mountain and Exiu Lake, the newly opened Anantara Emei Resort & Spa offers visitors to this corner of southwest China access to a host of natural and cultural delights, including Mount Emei, a Unesco-listed site with legendary sanctuaries untamed wilderness, hot springs, and the giant pandas in Chengdu, just an hour and a half’s drive away.

The new property features 90 guest rooms, 40 pavilions, and 20 villas, each of which boasts an opulent, oriental design aesthetic, along with an array of signature comforts, and lush garden or tranquil lake views. Villa guests will enjoy the extra indulgences of a private pavilion, and a jacuzzi or swimming pool.

Dining options include Cultivar, the stylish all-day dining restaurant specialising in Chinese and European cuisines, and exquisite dishes from Sichuan and Guangdong at Jinyi. The Yunshang Wine Cellar also serves selections of fine wines, gourmet snacks, sprits, cigars, and special degustation menus. Anantara’s signature Dining-by-Design service is also available, allowing guests to create bespoke dining experiences. Budding chefs also have the chance to explore local food markets and take home authentic Sichuan recipes through Spice Spoons, Anantara’s cooking classes.

An Anantara Spa is also on hand to encourage guests to relax and rejuvenate. The tranquil sanctuary offers a full spa menu that includes the signature Emei Retreat, where guests are treated to a Hydrating Pu-Erh Tea Body Scrub, a Ling Zhi Bath, a Purifying Pu-Erh Tea Body Wrap, and an Exotic Bamboo Massage.
