A new tour is giving wine lovers a way to go beyond the cellar door in South Australia. Vineyard Safaris offers unparalleled access and private tastings at some of South Australia’s most fascinating wineries.Established and personally led by by British-born Tim Wildman MW (Master of Wine), Vineyard Safaris offers exclusive one-day wine tours. Tim, one of just over 300 Masters of Wine in the world and a recognised expert on Australian wine, has developed relationships with Australia’s top producers over many years, ensuring that his guests are treated more like friends than visitors.Tim shares tasting tips and trade secrets, combining luxury with hands-on experiences ranging from tasting a wine from a guest’s birth year to creating their own unique blend. Tastings and visits include not only Australia’s most iconic wines brands such as Penfolds Grange and Henschke Hill of Grace but also small, virtually hidden, artisan wineries that have no cellar door or sign at the end of their driveway.Vineyard Safaris run from November to April for two to four people. Prices for a one day tour cost from AUD$2,800 (US$2,453) per person, including collection in a chauffeured vehicle, all the day’s tastings, events and lunch with an early evening drop off.
