Iconic The Chedi Chiang Mai Rebranded Anantara Chiang Mai Resort & Spa

Minor Hotel Group has expanded its holdings across its home country of Thailand with the announcement of the rebranding of The Chedi Chiang Mai as Anantara Chiang Mai Resort & Spa. The latest addition is the 100th property to MGH’s portfolio, and also represents a strategic location for Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spa’s Thai properties. The Chiang Mai location blends city elements with ancient history and local traditions.

The boutique retreat has been rendered in a striking contemporary style which has been artfully accented by traditional Thai and colonial elements, and occupies prime position along the picturesque Mae Ping River. Anantara Chiang Mai boasts 84 sleek guest rooms and suites, each of which features a river-fronting balcony with a double daybed, floor-to-ceiling windows, and stylish furnishings with jewel-toned Thai silk accents and local artifacts.

The resort also boasts a 34-metre riverside pool, a fully-equipped fitness centre, and an Anantara Spa specialising in holistic treatments. The elegant Lobby Lounge is the perfect place for morning tea or enjoying live Thai kim music with sundowners, while the 90-year old former British consulate house has been turned into a colonial-style restaurant and bar serving tempting Indian cuisine and contemporary twists on classic Southeast Asian dishes.
