Royal Salute Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup Returns to India’s Blue City

The Royal Salute Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup will return to its spiritual home of the historical Blue City in Rajasthan, India, for three days of world-class polo. The invite-only 12-goal tournament will be hosted by his highness the Maharaja of Jodhpur, Gaj Singh II, and will be held on the legendary polo field that sits in the foothills beneath the stunning Umaid Bhawan Palace.

A highlight of the polo season, the tournament will be held from December 19 to 21, 2013, and will see some of the world’s top polo players take the field. Among those competing for the hotly-contested cup will be Scottish-born six-goaler Malcolm Borwick, one of the best players in the sport, and a Royal Salute polo ambassador.  The three-day event will also include a camel polo exhibition match, and a series of sumptuous banquets, but the highlight will be the extravagant ball hosted by the Maharaja at Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s largest.

Luxury Scotch whisky label Royal Salute continues to sponsor the event, as it has done for the last five years. A leading international supporter of polo, Royal Salute sponsors many of the sport’s biggest tournaments across the globe.
