Langham Place Mongkok Brings the Basque Country to Hong Kong



The Langham Place Mongkok’s all-day dining restaurant, The Place, will be giving Hong Kong’s gourmands a taste of the iconic dishes and culture of Spain’s Basque country through November 30. The restaurant’s buffet tables will be lined with tasty morsels that capture the best of the region’s culinary offerings.

Diners can expect touches of Spain and France, including salt crusted salmon, paella, empañadas, gazpacho, grilled chorizo, chorizo and cheese croquettas, gambas al aijillo (grilled prawns with garlic) and – a treat for the sweet-toothed – homemade churros and crèma Catalane. At the live cooking station, chefs will prepare a warm mushroom risotto inside a oversized wheel of parmesan cheese, which serves both as an ingredient and a giant mixing bool, creating an on-demand creamy, decadent risotto. Another highlight of the live station if the Kintoa jamon, a marbled, fruity ham with deep, strong flavours which will be carved from the bone on request.

The Basque-themed buffets will be available for lunch from 12pm-230pm and for dinner from 630pm-10pm. Prices for the lunch buffet start at HK$238 (US$31) for adults and HK$448 (US$58) for the dinner buffet. www.hongkong.langhamplacehotels.com
