Elewana Collection Opens New Safari Camp in Masai Mara

Elewana Collection has made its first foray into Kenya’s legendary Masai Mara National Reserve with the opening of the Sand River Masai Mara bush camp. The eighth property in the collection is located on the banks of the river from which it takes its name, and is close to the border of the Serengeti National Park.

Accommodation comes in the form of sixteen luxurious tents, including a two-bedroom family suite. Designed to reflect the heyday of the exclusive tented camps of the 1920s and 1930s, the opulent tents feature a grandiose colonial aesthetic with hardwood floors, rich furnishings, and a furnished wooden deck area which affords sweeping panoramas of the majestic landscape and wildlife across the Sand River. The national reserve in which the camp is located is famous for its large concentration of big cats, including leopards, cheetahs, and lions, and guests will be able to enjoy exceptional game viewing any time of the year; but for a truly spectacular wildlife extravaganza, time your visit to coincide with the dramatic annual migration.

To celebrate its opening, Elewana Collection has created an eight-day itinerary, the Kenyan Bush & Beach Getaway, which will allow guests to discover its two Kenyan properties. Starting from US$2,800, guests will get three nights at Sand River Masai Mara and four nights at AfroChic Diani Beach, return flights from Wilson Airport, and internal airport transfers. The Sand River stay includes accommodation in a tented room, game drives, all meals, beers, and laundry, while the Afrochic Diani sojourn features accommodation in a Deluxe Ocean View room, two couples massages, all meals, beers, and laundry.
