New Kimberley Coast Cultural Experience

A new Aboriginal Cultural Experience tour at Kimberley Coastal Camp on the remote Kimberley Coast of Western Australia offers visitors a genuine insight into the rich Aboriginal culture of the Wunambal people of the North Kimberley of Western Australia. With guide Albert Peurmora, a Wunambal man and senior Traditional Owner, guests can see explore rarely seen ancient Aboriginal rock art as well as a traditional fresh seafood barbeque over hot coals as part of the unique experience.
The introduction of the Kimberley Coastal Camp Cultural Experience is an exciting development for tourism in the Northwest of Australia, and for the land’s traditional owners. “This is the right way to show people my country and teach them the proper way,” says Albert.
Kimberley Coastal Camp's James Braund said that while many people come to the Kimberley to see the spectacular Rock Art, very few have the opportunity to see it through the eyes of a traditional custodian. “Experiences like this allow visitors a rare insight into the world's longest living culture and improves cross cultural awareness and understanding.”
