The Joy of Music

Organised annually by the Chopin Society of Hong Kong, The Joy of Music Festival is set to bring internationally-acclaimed musicians together in Hong Kong, coinciding this year with the 50th anniversary of City Hall which has seen so many greats grace its stage. Across the evenings of October 8-14 music fans will be captivated by a diverse schedule of classical works performed by the likes of Hong Kong’s own twin sisters and superb pianists Lok Ping and Lok Ting Chau, percussionists Raymond Vong and Emily Cheng, as well as international stars such as Gary Graffman, who first played in Hong Kong in 1957, and first prize winners of previous years’ Hong Kong International Piano Competitions. On October 11 the visiting London Chamber Orchestra will perform an evening of string duos as well as quartet pieces.
