Siam Charm

The newly opened Riva Surya Bangkok on Bangkok’s preserved Rattanakosin Island is offering a special introductory offer until the end of the year. Surrounded by some of the city’s most treasured historical sites, this 68-room boutique hotel is a short boat ride away from the city centre, and adds charming and style to this bustling riverfront locale. Both the exterior and interior take influence from Thailand’s rich cultural history, combining traditional elements with modern twists. Design throughout the public areas has been inspired by Austrian designers Thonet, who were interestingly the first company to import European houseware into the country of smiles. A riverfront babble+rum café captures the beauty of the royal barges used by His Majesty the King for ceremonies, with images and scripture adorning the walls. Room packages from US$99 per night will be available until December 20.
