Tapas Temptation

Favourite New York tapas bar Boqueria is set to open in Hong Kong mid-September, and will be the brand's first foray into Asia. Gourmands will be transported to Barcelona’s famed food markets through a striking interior design featuring a heavy use of woods, Moorish tiles and sleek furnishings created in Spain. Two kitchens helmed by renowned chef David Izquierdo, who garnered nomination as one of Asia's 20 best chefs by The Miele guide in 2012, will serve traditional tapas and more substantial dishes, including wood grilled steaks, whole fish on the bone, suckling pig and festive paellas. Signature dishes will include a three-beef Bombas de la Barceloneta served with potato croquettes, salsa brava and garlic allioli; and a Paella de Mariscos, combining bomba rice, monkfish, sepia, squid, shrimp, clams, mussels, saffron and salsa verde. An inaugural sangria and paella night has been organised for September 19.
