The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong is launching an innovative wine club concept next month that will offer wine connoisseurs a chance to meet and share their passion and love for wine. The name Vinosseur is a combination of "vino" (the Italian word for wine) and "connoisseur". Vinosseur events will take place on the first Wednesday of every month across the award-winning restaurants at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Roberto Garrone, assistant director of food and beverage at the hotel and the Best Sommelier in Europe 2005, will share his wealth of experience and knowledge, to guide members through the wonders of wine appreciation. The first event, with the theme North VS South Italy, will take place at the renowned fine dining Italian restaurant Tosca on March 7, with different varietals from Italy being introduced during a 6-course degustation dinner prepared by Chef de Cuisine Vittorio Lucariello. Each course is paired with two wines - one from the South and North of Italy respectively, contributing to a truly Italian wine and dine experience.Vinosseur membership is priced at HK$2,680 a year.
